COMMUNION

Image
October 7, 2020 & April 15, 2021 Agha Inamullah Khan Watched one of my favorite song “Rose” by Bette Midler after a morning prayer. Breathing in mist from fluttering flowers admixed in breeze that creeped through green Nylon mesh of the window in living room. Blue sky winks at me. Clouds dodging each other; shimmering orange hue, and gold lining from rising sun on horizon. Solitude, and a peep inside my soul Evaluating how much nature has evolved itself in me From remorse to never ending sense of accomplishments. There have been constant wars within And they have intensified since January, when Mom left, and then September 2019, when Farooq left without a goodbye. I have been desperately searching Allah; since she left. I guess she knew, and did not want me around.  Go son, you must be tired, see you in the morning I am still waiting for that morning Never had to seek Him when she was around. And doubting His existence quite often has been heaving Th...

Time Traveller Dining At Sidewalk on Burns Road

Image
Dr. Agha Inamullah Friday, 26 March, 2021 Each window from terrace whispered  story of its golden era, and wept as if a lost child on last train to Hindustan, parted from  Sindhu, a beautiful life with memories of shattered dreams carrying world of torment upon its shoulders. I could see the century peeping to take a glimpse of me behind silk curtains, shy, and secretly smiling from her bedroom window.  I could see chariots, and carriages wheeling and could even  hear the clattering from metal hoofs of horses' on scented wider roads. Suddenly my gaze disentangled  to a rusty basket crafted from dry date Palm leaves; that rolled down from an adjacent terrace fence wooden bar; tied to an edge of Parvathi’s colorful dupattas she had collected, gifted from her beloved's family. Krishan was  flying kites with Muhammad on roof top.  Few Seagulls fluttered near their kites who apparently had lost their way from fish harbor at Keya Mari. Umaru in her...

OCTOBER CURSE/RECALLING PRE-PARTITION INCIDENT THAT DIVIDED SINDH

Image
Dr. Agha Inamullah October 13, 2020 What BJP is doing today was seeded back in 1936 inflaming communal rage that resulted in loss of precious lives, property and mass migration. 73 years have gone by and we are yet to understand conspiracies of the tyranny, and fall easy prey to their agents within sub-continent. The incident of Manzilgah Masjid (Babari Masjid of Sindh)  lead to an irreversible division and destruction of the two religious communities in sub-continent. And if you sum up all that has happened so far since that tragic incident, and choose to look at it from growing nationalist whim, no one has been inflicted as much as Sindh. Today the only nation in the region which suffers the most despite being rich in its culture and mineral resources is Sindhi. Agha Ghulam Nabi had leading role in initiating this agitation which turned violent leaving hundreds dead, including Sufi folk singer Shiri Bhagat Kanwar Raam. To look at it today in October 2020,  more thin...
